Thanks the NETCET project, the Emergency Centres for Sea Turtles in Gruda and Korcula received some new equipment to keep on doing their excellent work.

This Friday 10th July, the NETCET project  will participate in the Adriplan Final Conference in Venice. The event will take place in the pavilion of AQUAE VENICE 2015 – the great universal exhibition dedicated to water, collateral of the Universal Exposition of Milan (www.aquae2015.org ).

Roseto degli Abruzzi is a city located in the centre of the Italian Adriatic coast, one of the most appreciated by tourists in the Abruzzo region. We are delighted that this city joined our network (now made of 25 cities) in particular because Roseto degli Abruzzi enjoys a surprising event: its beach is the place chosen by Caretta caretta turtles to nest!  One nest of 43 closed shells gave birth to 30 baby sea turtles that managed to reach the Adriatic sea thanks to the intervention and constant monitoring of a series of actors. The city is therefore well coordinated to face this event and has even organised a conference on “cetaceans and sea turtles: emergency, interventions and epidemiology”.
