The release of the Sea Turtle "Sansego"- Losinj rescue centre

The release of the Sea Turtle "Sansego"- Losinj rescue centre

On Tuesday, 23 of July at 6 PM the BWI institute released the very first rehabilitated sea turtle named Sansego

from the Sea Turtle Rescue Centre on Borik bay. Sansego, a young loggerhead turtle was found on Thursday July 18th near the island Susak floating on the surface. Conscientious sailors reported their finding to the Blue World team who brought the sea turtle to the Turtle Rescue Centre where she was examined by veterinarian dr. Dubravko Devčić.

The reason why Sansego couldn’t dive was due to the accumulated gases in its body. Sansego recovered very fast so she was ready to be released to the sea already on Tuesday.

We wish her well!
