On Wednesday 15th October at 12 am, the Caretta caretta sea turtle LUNA will be released in the sea! The event will take place on the Lido of Venice, at the Centre F. Morosini.
Luna has been found stranded last August on the Lido and is now ready to be liberated.
This event is part of the many activities of NETCET, amongst which the construction of an emergency centre for sea turtles for the Venitian coast, based in the Centre F. Morosini (Alberoni – Lido of Venice). Works are being ultimated in these last days and from early Spring 2015 the emergency centre will be inaugurated and fully functioning and ready to host sea turtles stranded when coming back from their winter travelling in the Mediterranean.
Before the release event, a press conference will take place in the conference room of the Centre F. Morosini, at 11.15 am, with the intervention of the City of Venice, Economic Development, European Policies and Strategic Planning Manager, Paola Ravenna, the President of the Centre F. Morosini, Anna Maria Miraglia, and for scientific aspects the President of the management committee of Oasi WWF Dune di Alberoni, Jacopo Capuzzo.
